Sunday, finding some fun.

for our sunday night service at church we had a beach baptism it was cool and chilly, but after it was only 5 pm and we wanted to find some fun. we took Brooke and Taylor along and headed out. we didn't want to pay $23 for parking so we ended up here parking on the street and going to the fountain almost free! The kids loved it when we got there we were the only ones in the fountain, who else would play on a cold rainy day?

well it did start to rain which the kids thought was fun
but then it just was raining to hard so we packed it up got dinner and ate at Brooke & mikes Tay slept over for his last bit of fun before high school begins. Fun found mission accomplished.

U-505

we had a family day to the museum of S&I with the purpose of seeing the U-505 sub exibit per Brookes recommendation, It was fantastic!! we were in there 3 solid hours . Go if you can so great.
D & O buy one of the ships guns
these were the bunks kinda small for grown men.
no kiding this is the entire kitchen on board to feed 56 men on 3 hot plates, yeah don't think the Navy is for me. Funny thing is we were here during those horrible storms on Thurs. didn't even know they were happening, turns out it was possibly the safest place we could have been 40 feet underground in a cement room, we didn't hear a thing. welll that is until we left and drove home in the wonderful traffic.

Chris comes to "paradise"

Chris rapp is in town for 3 days before he goes on to grad school out east. so we were busy showing him a good time. Sunday we went down to the Shed to see all the fishes. It was a place that he nor Laura had ever been so that was fun.
on monday we did our favorite summer activity, yep biking on the lake, which was another new treat for him. we packed a lunch and ate here at the planetarium
it was cool because the goo goo dolls were doing a sound check at the theater for a show that night so we ate to live music. then we rode on to this spot the old megs (not sure if thats right, megs or migs) field quite tranquil in the middle of the city.
Gray always has to see the "big bean" followed of coarse by the fountain, which I already have 400 pictures of.

Chris left us to go to Moody at about 4, but we stayed and played at the pier, ate on the lake and came home about 9 pm it was a long and wonderful day doing just the things we love.
tuesday our last day with Chris before he goes to get more smarter, we went to glow in the dark mini golf. Chris and I had never been it was really very fun. B got a hole in one and got $1 from Chris for it, nice work B.
since Chris has been here the boys have been sleeping upstairs so Chris can have the basement. last night I went in to kiss them goodnight and found all 3 boys out on the floor, goodtimes.

I didn't forget. our trip to Bonita beach.

we knew we were going somewhere we just didn't know where. so about 5 days before we left we nailed down Bonita beach and also decided to keep Taylor with us another week and take him along. so after 26 LONG so long hours of driving we arrived. we unloaded and showered, yeah, and went out to one of our favorites Charlies for dinner. as you can see above the daily special me and David ordered came with king crab legs. the boys were excited since we are such "deadliest catch" fans but when they brought them, well first we had to ask for instuction how to eat them, our waiter was very gracious with us midwesterners. but I was absolutely sickened by the sight of them I did try 1 taste but never have to see a plate of them set infront of me again, ever.
this is a bonita favorite doc's and eating on the beach while the sun sets is awsome, but the owners being chicago transplants must have lost their chicago pizza recipe in the move, it was not yummy.
it was great fun having 4 boys.
this is Doc's beach
I just love this one. I think it could be some kind of cubs ad or something.

a day out

we found a pamphlet for this "great" place. after we left The Shell Factory we crumpled up the pamphlet and put it in the trash! The pictures are way nicer than it really is.
this was our savior the bumper boats now that WAS fun it was really like 102 and the water was welcome.

Olivia and I got the most wet drenched dripping soaked, all of the above!
something went wrong with Skys boat so we got a free game you could so make this thing it was amusing

loving the pool. it was nice cool 80 degrees.
we even swam in the rain
ah , so nice to have a built in photo taker.we went out to the beach at night
