carving night

you will see Gray didn't actually carve, we found him these cool lite brite type things that he just hammered away.
Colby stopped over at a great time, cleaning out the guts, great to have the help!
finished
that's fun.

Olivia's is so abstract. I love it.

Why is Brixton soaking wet in the 'finished' picture? He must have been working really hard . . .

Carving pumpkins always reminds me of living in Rosebush. Tim and I would wash the seeds, salt them, and cook them on big pieces of sheet metal out in the dump. They were chewy because we never let them dry or maybe because we didn't cook them long enough - either way, we ate them, and so did mom, even though they probably tasted terrible. When I think of Tim being the same age as Livvy and me being younger than T and building fires, I can't decide if mom was a little nuts or if she was smart to give us so much confidence in ourselves...One more thing I wish we could ask her. Man, I miss her!
